Hiring managers of any company or organisation are known to use resumes throughout the hiring process to know more about the job seekers and whether they are qualified for the job. Your resume should be clear and easy to read, show your skills or accomplishments, with all the relevant experience.

  1. Use professional fonts

Employers always have little time to go through your resume so ensure it is clear and easy to read. Always use a basic clean font such as times new Roman or Arial. Do not forget to use font-size that is between 10 or 12.

Selecting a readable or clear font will make your resume to appear more professional. Ensure that you remove or reduce any extraneous white space. Having too many blank spaces will make your resume distracting and possibly raising a red flag. But by reducing the blank spaces you make it possible for the hiring manager to read and focus only on the things contained in your resume instead of those white spaces. 

  1. Use keywords in the job description

Always make sure that you read through the job posting or description carefully. This is actually the best place to start when writing your resume. Study the job description of any job you are applying and against the keywords that the employer used. Ensure that you include those keywords in your resume.

Write your resume using active language without extraneous words. This means you should use words such as earned, completed, accomplished, or achieved. Also if they receive me is too hard to read or long then you should consider using shorter sentences.
